Another great weekend for baseball is in the books and this week’s PBL update is brought to you by: Cloud Coverage.
Kicking things off at a comfortable temperature that soon faded to heat-induced pleas for death, was the @gentilly_giants_pbl hosted by the @fifthwardweebies. The Weebies held onto an early lead in a game that can be described as hot 🥵. Next up, @s9nola gave @rougarou_nola a visit under partly cloudy skies that ended in what I’ve heard as the most anticlimactic walk-off in history. The afternoon sky was in full swing as the @nolapelicansbc reassured everyone that they are good again in a victory over @beefslidersbaseball. As the sky starting to turn from golden to oh-my-god-it’s-so-dark-in-left-field, the @bsjbluesbaseball proved that they have been eating their carrots as they defeated the hosting @discretestreetriot.

The PBL is back, baby! Just in time for false autumn to end with temps reaching the 90s after a series of refreshing days here below sea level. CSR and S9 opened things up in a high-scoring — but fun — matchup. Please note that no potatoes were harmed during the course of this game. The Rougarou and the Pelicans took the field as things started heating up. The new and improved Pelicans landed their first win of the season. Those transactions in the offseason really paid off! Next up was a game that will forever live in infamy — the Weebies at the Blues. The official results of the game are in protest after a forfeit was levied against the Blues. Will the results be overturned? More at 11. Finally, the Beef and the Giants battled it out under the lights, which can only be described as “on.”
Join us next week for pictures of clouds.

It was a hot one out there today folks! With the heat index in the 110s, both teams brought all they had to the table. After a hard fought nine innings, the @bsjbluesbaseball bagged themselves their first championship title. Although the game ended with a score of 8-1, one Blues player was quoted saying that the Weebies fought hard to stay in and claw forward. In the end, the People’s Baseball League would like to congratulate the Champion Bayou St. John Blues on a tremendous 9-1 regular season and a well earned championship title.
The League also would like to thank all who met to keep the true spirit of these fair people alive in the Gala game. After two exceptionally long innings, the game was called due to excessive heat as the temperature on the field began to exceed 115 degrees. But that didn’t stop those few from having a hell of a time running backwards and stealing 4th.
Until next season, folks!
Hello, baseball fans! Its Championship Weekend this weekend at Larry Gilbert Stadium. That’s right, round one of the playoffs concluded last Sunday after two, equally long games. It was a hot one out there with the heat index over 100, sparking a few pop up rain storms accompanying the pop ups over our humble field. Yes, it was Wet Hot American Baseball and the two championship teams have been decided.
The @fifthwardweebies will visit the @bsjbluesbaseball this Sunday at high noon. These teams advanced after the Weebies and @discretestreetriot decided to put their toes away and play some ball. Following the Weebies/CSR contest, the @s9nola and Blues took the field for a tense, 14-inning contest. Alvarado stole home to put the Blues into the championship match — an exciting conclusion to an exciting game.
The Gala Game will follow the championship game this Sunday. Thanks to all the grounds crew that helped get the field playable for round one. Stay tuned for more updates for the weekend. If you want to help our crew chief, Andy Gross from Rougarou, umpire the championship game, please let me know!

The games have been played and the stories told. The Spring 2022 Season has come to a close but, worry not! The Spring 2022 Post-Season just started.
PBL Media™️ is happy to report that every team has said they’ve had fun playing this season. Tutus, cancelled rain checks, a travel team, and Hideo Nomo all made appearances this season — and the Commissioner even talked shit about all of us on a podcast! #mems
Now that the makeup games are over, the final standings are set. The top four teams will play at Larry Gilbert on Sunday, starting at noon with the 2 and 3 seeds. Come on out and root for your friends (or root against those that have dashed your glory-filled playoffs dreams)!
