PBL Spring 2020 Season Indefinitely Postponed

In an effort to help slow the spread of COVID-19 infections among our community and give New Orleans’ healthcare infrastructure a fighting chance, our final spring training game this weekend has been cancelled, and the PBL Spring Season has been delayed indefinitely. If we are unable to figure out how to safely reschedule this season within the next few weeks, any dues that have been paid will be refunded.

Spring Training 2020

That’s right, folks. Time to spray some Febreze™ in that dusty lid and remember to pay your car insurance because it’s baseball time, baby. Delay those suicidal ideations over capital’s incessant onslaught on any semblance of indigenous human culture. Because we have a score to settle… in the ballpark.
SPRING TRAINING:
We start the Spring THIS SUNDAY, March 1st at 1 PM, at the field under Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park. Show up and we’ll break into two teams and go out at it until the cows come home. This is where any newcomers reading should make an appearance, remember how to swing a bat, and find your way onto an established PBL franchise.
This affair will be replicated on March 8th and 15th.
OPENING DAY:
We here at the People’s Baseball League are proud to announce the return of Spring Season to our hallowed grounds of Perry Roehm Stadium, starting March 22nd, 2020. The schedule has been drafted; keep an eye out for its publishing on the website.
REGISTRATION:
Registration is now open for the Spring 2020 season. $40 gets you a season of baseball.
IMPORTANT:: If you’ve signed our waiver before, just pay the cash and we’re good. If not, please sign that neat little piece of digital paperwork.
ALSO IMPORTANT:: If you are new and haven’t been offered a spot on a team yet, it miiiiight be best to skip the payment process until we get you located. Otherwise, CFO Mike will be launching our new embezzlement scheme, 40 bucks at a time.
Hop on over to the REGISTRATION page to do that.
TRIVIA:

Did you know that League Historian Adam Kronenberg still uses an AOL™ e-mail address?
I think that about does it?
Stoked to see you SUNDAY!!!

Parleaux Wins the Fall 2019 Championship

Parleaux takes the Fall 2019 Championship 5-1. Congratulations to the Parleaux Beer Labs for their third consecutive PBL Championship Win. Also, well done by the Secret 9 for making it to the championship game, and keeping the game interesting! Also thank you to all who participated in this season’s wildly successful Gala game. Yes, there was a fire in the infield, there were five bases, and a great time was had by all. Finally, congratulations to all of our award winners!
This concludes our Fall 2019 Season. Enjoy the offseason. PBL Baseball will officially return in the Spring of 2020. Look out for e-mails/instagram posts regarding Winter Training pickup games, travel games, and other fun events that will happen during the offseason.

Fall 2019 Championship Game

SUNDAY The People’s Baseball League presents the FALL 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME – PARLEAUX BEER LABS v. SECRET NINE.
4 PM.
PERRY ROEHM STADIUM.

Since entering the league in the Spring of 2018, these two expansion teams have carved very different paths. Parleaux has quickly established themselves as a perennial powerhouse having secured a spot in every championship game since their first season, and taking home the championship title at two of those appearances. Secret 9, formerly known as Old No. 7 struggled in their first two seasons, garnering just one win in each of those seasons. In Spring 2019, the team shed their pink colors and whiskey-themed identity, and arose from the ashes as the gold and grey Secret 9, which marked a turning point for their fortunes.
In what was perhaps the most competitive season yet, these teams ended the Fall 2019 regular season tied in the second place spot with matching records of 6-4, and wound up in the third and fourth playoff seeds due to run differential. Both have earned their chance at the PBL Championship title by battling through the single elimination playoffs. Will Parleaux claim a three-peat? Will Secret 9 seize their first championship title? Will the game be tied and go on in endless extra innings until the end of time?
Find out this Sunday at 4 PM at Perry Roehm Stadium, the most beautified ballpark in this Crescent City.

Regular Season is Over – Here Are Your Results!

Results of Week 10 of the Fall 2019 Season of the People's Baseball League. Pels (4) - Parleaux (3), S9 (8) - Blues (0), CSR (5) - Rougarou (11)

5WW (12) – (5) CSR

The regular season is over, and the playoffs have been determined.
The Pels bested Parleaux to finish on top, and we found ourselves with a three-way tie between Rougarou, Parleaux, and Secret 9 for 2nd place, and due to run differential, those teams are seeded as such:
2. Rougarou
3. Parleaux
4. Secret 9

The Weebies and Crete Street Riot wrapped up the regular season Sunday morning at 9 AM with a “just for fun” makeup game, and the Weebies take 5th, pushing CSR to 6th.
We want to thank The Blues for a great inaugural season despite a rough record–you played well, show great team cohesion, and we look forward to seeing what you can do next season.

Your playoff schedule is set!
Sunday, Nov. 10 – Perry Roehm Stadium
4 PM – Secret 9 @ Pelicans
7 PM – Parleaux @ Rougaroux
