What an exciting day of baseball yesterday! The Secret 9 bested the Rougarou to even up their records at 5-4 a piece. The Pelicans battled hard to stave off the Blues once again, and they each remain in 1st and 7th place respectively. And despite an early 1-run lead, the Fifth Ward Weebies succumbed to Parleaux’s superior batsmanship and defense, advancing Parleaux to the sole 2nd place spot at 6-3, and knocking the Weebies down to 6th at 4-5.Don’t forget our final week of regular season play has four games, with a Tuesday night game at St. Roch Park at 6:00 PM. The Saints have a bye next Sunday, daylight savings time ends (allowing you an extra hour of sleep), and our Sunday games will be played consecutively at 12:00, 3:00, and 6:00 at Perry Roehm Stadium. You have no excuse not to come—Po Boy Fest be damned, there’s October baseball to watch. Many things will be determined in these last four games, as six teams still vie for four playoff spots. The lingering questions on everyone’s minds: Who will win the clash of the titans between the 1st place Pelicans and 2nd place Parleaux? Will the Blues get a win in their last chance of the season? (If so, we will be selling the film rights to their story to Disney). Who the hell is playing in the playoffs? Will the Nationals get their act together in Houston?
